CHAPLAINCY CENTRE
The Chaplaincy now has a fully furnished office with Internet access and the opportunity to use the community facilities of this magnificent building set in the heart of Central London, thanks to the generosity of St Marylebone Parish Church. This will enable the Chaplaincy to expand the range and remit of its activities, having previously had no centre from which to carry out its activities.

LONDON AND SOUTHEAST
London is where most Nigerians live, work and study, and hence the base of Chaplaincy activities. From the centre, the chaplaincy runs monthly services and monthly legal consultation in partnership with the British Nigeria Law Forum (BNLF) - a group of Nigerian lawyers. This is in addition to occasional services such as naming ceremonies, memorial services, etc. which the chaplaincy regularly undertakes.

In the autumn the Chaplaincy is planning to launch a fresh expression service for Nigerian young adults, which will take place on Sunday afternoons. This will serve as a platform for the Chaplaincy to carry out its traditional ministry to students. The Church has approved the use of its crypt for this project, and a core group of about a dozen are involved.

UNITED KINGDOM
The chaplaincy provides pastoral care and support to a Nigerian Para-church organisation called the Overseas Fellowship of Nigerian Christians (OFNC). The OFNC has branches in about 13 major UK cities, and holds an annual conference in Wales which attracts over 600 participants. The chaplain leads the Holy Communion service at the conference and participates in other activities like bible studies and at times leads seminars/workshops. The OFNC is a major partner of the Chaplaincy. In addition, the Chaplain provides a pastoral oversight to an Igbo congregation in Birmingham which was established about a year ago with the permission of the Bishop of Birmingham.

EUROPE
The activities of the chaplaincy go beyond the shores of the United Kingdom. The chaplaincy works in partnership with the Diocese of Europe to reach out to Nigerians within Europe. Albeit the work is limited to Italy at the moment, where a Nigerian congregation was established with the support of the Chaplain, who still provides pastoral oversight. The chaplain has assisted in vocation discernment for two Nigerians. One was ordained July 5 at St Albans and the other was ordained last year in Italy. At present the Chaplain is involved in a vocation discernment of another Nigerian in Rome.
